Evolution Studios

1987: Evolution Studios is created from the amalgamation of Arty Bray Productions and Arty Bray Audio by a much younger Shayne Cantly.

From its four track studio origins Evolution has, dare we say it, evolved to become the one stop production house it is today. Although we've grown and expanded, we havn't lost sight of customer service, quality production and excellent value for money.

We've been proud to develop key areas, including:

Audio Production Delivery:
Working with the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, Shayne was one of the beta testers of the then-unheard-of MP3 format. Some of his suggestions were even realised in the final implementation. Seeing the benefits inherent in the small file sizes Evolution became the first Studio in Australia to deliver audio and voice overs in MP3.

Royalty Free Music:
Evolution was the first Australian studio to write, record, and produce a series of Royalty Free Music CDs designed for the commercial producer. The original two disc set has grown to 15 volumes. (That's over a thousand 30 second music beds.)

Our structural tree has branched out to include phone-on-hold systems, film making equipment sales, and, most recently, specialised video production.

In 2004 we bought out the 23 year old company Diamond Media, adding experienced filming, editing, effects and multimedia talent to our skill set. Not to mention a new home recently upgraded with extra recording booths, 5:1 Surround Sound Mixing, High Definition video editing suites and lots of yellow and blue paint. It's a cheery place to be!!

2008 saw us sell our building, move from our facility in Neil Street, back to our re-furbished studios at 89 Mary Street. One of the best features of this new building is that there are windows...so we can see gardens, trees, and the sky. Us creative types like this sort of thing. We've also got bigger voice-over booths, and a more intergrated set-up.
