Getting Yourself an Interactive CD

Dilemma: People like to know how much something costs _before_ planning it. And we can't provide quotes without a plan, or at least some idea of what you want. (Notice how restrained we are about proverbial strings and associated measurements.)

You can draw flow charts. Or you can try making yourself a three column table that allows you to figure out what information you need to convey and the best way of conveying it, such as:

A CD About Our Function and Restaurant Facilities
Information I want people to know:
Best Way to Tell People:
How To Get it Done:
opening hours a table provide a photocopy of the opening hours sign on our door
where we are located Along with our postal address I think we should have a map

sketch a mud map so the artists can draw up a neat one

-or-

use Whereis.com

our branding the CD should feature our logo. get Vicki from the printers to email over a nice copy
our history a few paragraphs on how we got to where we are i'd like to see the difference in price if we hired a copywriter compared to writing the text ourself and suppling in a *.doc format
A look at our function rooms a 3D tour! if we supply some floor plans the CD designer will be able to make a walkthrough

It may seem like a lot of work now, but consider - it's work you'll have to do at some stage no matter who you choose to design your CD . It will also net you more accurate quotes, rather than a vague "yeah mate, somewhere between $100 and $1,000, we can let you know when we're finished the CD".

What is a Video CD?

A CD with the ability to play standalone video files in DVD settop boxes - as well as on your computer. The visual quality is comparable with VHS, depending on the amount of movement / detail in the original footage.

This method of presenting information becomes a great option when you require something cheap to duplicate in large numbers, with the added bonus of the multiple playback options.

You can combine VCDs with interactive presentations for the computer.
